Aspetti funzionali e pragmatici nel pensiero linguistico di Philipp Wegener

The volume is divided into two parts. The first,entitled Aspetti funzionali e pragmatici nel pensiero linguistico di Philipp Wegener, discusses those aspects of Wegener’s linguistic thought which placed him among the forerunners of the modern pragmatic theory (e.g. the view of the language as action and interaction, the dialectics between form and function, the text informational organization in psychological subject and psychological predicate, the relationship between utterance and situation or context). Wegener’s main concepts are systematized according to thematic areas and discussed with reference to the coeval linguistic debate and to the following developments in linguistic theory. The second part of the work consists in the translation of some chapters of Wegener’s Untersuchungen über die Grundfragen des Sprachlebens related to the thematic areas focused on in the introduction essay.

Il volume è articolato in due parti. Nella prima vengono presentati, sistematizzati per aree tematiche e collocati nel dibattito linguistico coevo gli aspetti funzionali e pragmatici delle riflessioni linguistiche di Wegener che lo collocano fra i precursori della moderna teoria pragmatica (per es. la concezione del linguaggio come azione e interrelazione, la dialettica tra forma e funzione, l’articolazione testuale in soggetto logico e predicato logico, la relazione tra enunciazione e situazione o contesto). Nella seconda trova ampio spazio la traduzione di alcuni capitoli delle Untersuchungen relativi alle tematiche presentate nel saggio introduttivo.
