The explicit compromise of artists and their research with the ideological, cultural, social and political deeply marks the seventies. Works and actions that fall outside traditional boundaries of their introduction to the world of real life, in many cases explicitly addressing the issues most relevant at that time, the political struggle to live debate on civil and social, according to an idea of creativity that serve the society. The essay, published in a book edited by myself with Cristina Casero, investigating in particular the relationship of art quegi years with the ideology of compromise, commitment and radical decisions. In a climate of participation in the events involving the company, the art world felt its social vocation even perceiving that vocation as the engine of making art. Both art forms through a solid majority, with both studies, however, criticism of ideologies, art became policy in many cases. On these slopes, making reference to the critical debate of this time, the essay explores these issues from a critical and historical perspective through the reconstruction of the most significant exhibitions and the analysis of works specifically included in that context.

L'esplicita compromissione degli artisti e delle loro ricerche con il contesto ideologico, culturale, sociale e politico caratterizza profondamente gli anni settanta. Opere e azioni escono dai tradizionali confini dell'arte proprio per avvicinarsi al mondo della vita reale, affrontando in molti casi esplicitamente le questioni in quel momento più rilevanti, dalla lotta politica al vivo dibattito sui temi civili e sociali, secondo un'idea di creatività al servizio della società. Il saggio indaga i rapporti dell'arte di quegi anni con l'ideologia tra compromissioni, impegno e scelte radicali.
