The conceptual framework within which the planning and intervention work in the field of Community Technologies is inserted is based on three key words: society, innovation and community. The crisis of the concept of authority leads us to question the meaning of a horizontal society: is it a more adult society? More responsible? But is it possible to speak of a radical horizontality? Within this model of society, digital capitalism risks using horizontality to impose the logic of consumption. The company just described finds its own figure in innovation. We reflect on the meaning of the construct, distinguish it from that of change, investigate its value as a salvific utopia. Innovation is mainly focused on technology in the third phase of technological mediation characterized by two main phenomena: the emergence of artificial life (bioalgorithms, artificial intelligence) and the dictatorship of Big Data. Can there still be room for the community in this society? Are bonds forever liquid or is there room for them to survive?
La cornice concettuale entro cui si inserisce il lavoro di progettazione e intervento nell’ambito delle Tecnologie di Comunità (TdC) si basa su tre parole chiave: società, innovazione e comunità. La crisi del concetto di autorità porta a interrogarsi sul significato di una società orizzontale: è una società più adulta? Più responsabile? Ma è possibile parlare di una orizzontalità radicale? Dentro questo modello di società il capitalismo digitale rischia di usare l’orizzontalità per imporre le logiche del consumo. La società appena descritta trova nell’innovazione la propria cifra. Si riflette sul significato del costrutto, lo si distingue da quello del cambiamento, se ne indaga il valore di utopia salvifica. L’innovazione è soprattutto all’insegna della tecnologia nella terza fase della mediazione tecnologica caratterizzata da due principali fenomeni: l’affermarsi della vita artificiale (bioalgoritmi, intelligenza artificiale) e la dittatura dei Big Data. In questa società si può trovare ancora spazio per la comunità? I legami sono per sempre liquidi o vi è uno spazio per la loro sopravvivenza?
