Il termalismo contemporaneo come erede di quello antico: il caso delle Terme di Cotilia

The article presents the case of an ancient thermal and holiday resort; it reached the height of its development in the first imperial age; later it became a place of worship and devotion in the middle age. Afterwards it was rediscovered for its therapeutic qualities and finally it became once more a thermal establishment from the beginning of the 20th century.

L'articolo presenta il caso di un’antica stazione termale e di villeggiatura, giunta all’apice dello sviluppo nella prima età imperiale, divenuta successivamente luogo di culto e di devozione nell’età di mezzo e quindi riscoperta per le sue qualità terapeutiche, fino a ritornare sede di uno stabilimento termale, a partire dall’inizio del XX secolo.
