In 2007 Luigi Pasinetti published his influential path-breaking book Keynes and the Cambridge Keynesians: A ‘Revolution in Economics’ to be Accomplished (Cambridge University Press). In it, one of the major theorists of his generation reflected on the Keynesian revolution, on the accomplishments of the Cambridge Keynesians – the people that influenced him the most (Richard Kahn, Joan Robinson, Nicholas Kaldor, Piero Sraffa and Richard Goodwin)- and on their eventual failure not only to become successful but also to perpetuate a school at home. Ten years later, in 2017, the book was translated and published in Japanese (by Nihon Keizai Hyoronsha) with an entirely new preface, which is provided here in English. The author's reflections on Keynes’s ‘unaccomplished revolution’ can offer a significant contribution to assess the works of Keynes and the Keynesians.
