Numeri del perdono

The words of forgiveness hide numbers as well as the numbers hide those words. Never, always, on this one. Zero, seven, seventy, seventy times seven, one. In the West as well as in the East, among the myths and in the everyday language, the numbers need to speak about forgiveness because one never knows how to get it. It need a number, a figure, a call, a riddle to tell that it is possible and impossible, difficult and easy, invisible but present. It always need ambivalent numbers: opposite and near, positive and negative, male and female, singular and plural, public and private. We need only think about the personal drama as well as the tragedies of history.

Le parole del perdono nascondono numeri come i numeri le parole. Mai, sempre, per questa volta. Zero, sette, settanta, settanta volte sette, uno. In Occidente come in Oriente, nei miti e nel linguaggio quotidiano, del perdono si parla con numeri perché non si sa da che parte prenderlo. Per dire che è possibile e impossibile, difficile e a portata di mano, invisibile ma presente occorre una cifra, una figura, un richiamo, un enigma. Ci vogliono numeri sempre ambivalenti: contrari e vicini, positivi e negativi, maschili e femminili, singolari e plurali, pubblici e privati. Basta pensare ai drammi personali come alle tragedie della storia.
