Abstract: This book presents a digital transformation (DT) methodology for non-profit organizations (NPOs), integrating bibliometric analysis, thematic synthesis, strategic framework development, and empirical case studies. Differentiating itself from similar publications, the book captures the complexity of DT in mission-driven contexts, emphasizing the interplay between organizational identity, strategic logics, and stakeholder pressures. It also proposes multivariate analysis methods in order to identify opportunities for digital change across operational, cultural, and strategic dimensions. Key topics include the classification of DT pathways, strategic benchmarking against for-profit models, and the development of a recursive framework that links readiness, strategic intent, and organizational profiles. Drawing on case studies from UK-based NPOs, the book explores how digital tools are adopted, adapted, and contested in practice, highlighting tensions between innovation and mission alignment. While focused on the non-profit sector, the book’s frameworks and findings are relevant to all scholars and practitioners of digital innovation, organizational change, and public value creation.

Abstract: Why do populist parties with an anti-immigrant stance have success in areas that host
few immigrants? We use data from a sample of Italian municipalities to show that
the relationship between the vote shares of anti-immigration parties and the share of
immigrants follows a U-shaped curve, which exhibits a tipping-like behavior around a
share of immigrants equal to 3.35 %. We estimate that the vote share of Lega Nord, the
main Italian anti-immigration party, is approximately 6 % points higher for municipalities
below the threshold. We show that the competition in the labor market between
low-skilled natives and immigrants is the more plausible explanation for the electoral
success of anti-immigration parties in areas with low immigrant shares. We rationalize
our findings with a simple theoretical model and show that alternative stories are not
supported by the data. Finally, we discuss the policy implications and suggest how
immigration and labor market policies could reduce anti-immigration sentiment.

Autori: Carfora V.
Abstract: The Sustainable Food Choice: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Consumer Food Behaviour explores the intricate relationship between individual preferences, societal norms, and global challenges in the pursuit of sustainable eating habits. Featuring contributions from experts across various fields, the book delves into the nutritional, social, and psychological foundations of food choices, the influence of technology and innovation, and the role of policy in guiding consumer behavior. Through comprehensive analysis and case studies, it offers a roadmap for promoting environmentally friendly and health-conscious food consumption patterns. The book is structured into three sections, with each part focusing on unique aspects of sustainable eating. Highlights include chapters on psychological predictors of food choices, the impact of political attitudes, mindfulness in eating, front-of-package labeling, and smartphone interventions. It provides a holistic understanding of how science, mindfulness, and technology can be leveraged to encourage sustainable food choices.
